The Complete Sessions features two client sessions with Andrew T. Austin, author, therapist and developer of IEMT. The clients in both of these sessions were previously unknown to Andrew and neither had any experience with IEMT prior to the sessions.
Demonstrated in these session are the basic IEMT patterns for creating remedial change in problematic emotions, leading to generative change in identity and being. Trainees in Integral Eye Movement Therapy will benefit from not only observing the techniques in action, but also to observe the attitudes and style that Andrew demonstrates in the delivery of the techniques.
Using a combination of provocative humour, indifference and precise questioning, Andrew skilfully guides the clients towards a deeper understanding of the issues of identity and how a person can integrate and become more present in the here and now. As Sally, from the first session, commented after reviewing the session on DVD:
'Looking back over the year, I cannot recall the last time I said, “You idiot!” to myself. My quality of sleep has improved. I have noticed improvements in focus and memory. I no longer feel my thoughts are going around in circles, and no longer feel a hot flush when I remember past traumatic events or imagine traumatic scenarios in the future.
